So… I believe that I have finally figured out how to reconcile the whole mask-mandate thing with the masks-are-fun thing.  With my state, Maryland, still requiring everyone to wear masks, and all of the other nearby states within a reasonable drive (i.e. DC, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania) also now requiring masks, it required a change of strategy.  For my girlfriend and I, our original strategy was to avoid doing our shopping in the jurisdictions that required masks in order to not have to participate in the state-mandated security theater.  First we avoided our home jurisdiction of Montgomery County, Maryland.  Then masks were required statewide in Maryland, and Pennsylvania and DC shortly after that.  So we would go to Virginia to do our shopping.  That wasn’t the worst thing in the world, because I also work in Virginia, and would couple grocery runs and other shopping trips with work when I could, and we would also make other trips to Virginia if we needed to.  We got to know Northern Virginia much better for this, and that wasn’t a bad thing by any means.  Then at the end of May, Virginia started requiring masks as well.  So we started going out to West Virginia, in the Charles Town and Martinsburg areas.  Then West Virginia joined the mask bandwagon, which meant that everyone within reasonable driving time required masks.  This was followed shortly thereafter by a flurry of companies enacting their own policies requiring masks to shop.  So I was thinking, well, crap, as my girlfriend and I were more or less boxed in on this if we actually wanted to shop.

Then I had an idea: Jennifer.  The way that I figured, I might as well have a little bit of fun with it and be Jennifer when I go shopping.  In order to do this, I had to make some modifications to how I did Jennifer.  I also am a lot smaller than I used to be, as I underwent weight loss surgery last December.  As a result of that, Jennifer looks a bit different now than she did when I last showed her off to you in 2018.  So for this adventure, first and foremost, I got a new zentai – one with open eyes.  I needed to be able to see in order for Jennifer to go shopping, as I’ve complained before about not being able to see well through the original flesh-toned suit.  I eventually found a shiny gold-colored suit by Wolf Unitard on Amazon that had open eyes.  It didn’t look as natural as the original suit (which still fits) did, but it worked for my purposes.

I also quickly discovered that with the weight loss, Jennifer’s clothes fit a little differently than they used to.  The clothes that hung from the shoulders, i.e. the one-piece dresses, were fine.  They could still hang there, but they were a little looser – but not so loose to make the result look frumpy.  The ones that went on at the waist, on the other hand, were a bit of a challenge.  For one thing, do you remember that tiered skirt that Jennifer wore on the playground back in 2016?  I always had to wear it somewhat high because of its length, but now I have to wear it over the boobs in order for it to land in the right spot and stay in place.  Yes, it sounds inelegant, but the result looks fine.

So this is what Jennifer looks like now:

Notice that the stomach doesn’t extend past Jennifer’s chest anymore.  Yes, the boobs are now what protrude out the most.  It was a weird feeling not having to make sure that my stomach cleared tighter spaces, instead having to make sure that the boobs made it through.  But it worked.  I also was a bit better walking in heels, though I ultimately wimped out there partly through the day.  Jennifer has some wedges with around a 2″ heel on them, but I kept coming out of them on the left side, likely because the zentai was too slick, and the shoes were a tad on the loose side now that I’d lost some weight (yes, weight loss will make your feet change shape, too).  So I switched to flats – problem solved.  I also don’t like the way that the material bunches up around the lower leg.  It’s because the legs of the suit are slightly longer than my legs actually are, and while it fits properly everywhere else, it bunches right there.  I also don’t know if there’s anything that I can realistically do about it with this suit, though, so I probably will just have to live with the “old lady legs” whenever I’m wearing this suit.  Oh, well.

I was also surprised that I didn’t have any issues with Jennifer’s wig.  I typically have some issue with keeping it in place, and while I didn’t do anything that would give it any reason to want to fall off, it usually doesn’t like to stay put on its own.  But this time, it did.  Clearly, we had an agreement of “I leave you alone, you leave me alone,” as I never had to mess with the wig the entire time other than occasionally pushing hair out of my eyes.  I also never took the hood on the suit down the entire time, so I imagine that helped a bit as well.  I was completely covered for about four hours straight.

And on the whole, I had a lot of fun going out as Jennifer.  We went to five different places: Target, GameStop, IKEA, Best Buy, and Giant Food.  I was concerned that I would be denied entry to places because I was completely covered from head to toe, and not just wearing a “face covering” (I absolutely despise that term), but nobody even so much as batted an eye about it in every single instance.  My girlfriend, who was also wearing a zentai, didn’t have any problems, either.  Truth be told, I actually got compliments on my outfit from people, which absolutely made my day.  The guy directing people to checkout lanes at IKEA really loved my outfit.  I also had a conversation with a lady about the full-body suit vs. just a mask, and how she had considered going the full-body route but never actually went there.  The only time that I had any problems was a couple of times when my girlfriend inadvertently referred to me as “he”, thus blowing my cover (the general public did not know that I was crossdressing).  I’m willing to forgive that, though, because force of habit.

All in all, this was a positive, fun experience.  I need to do this more often, and take the various fun outfits that Jennifer has out for a spin.
